I was waiting for someone to respond with the “privilege” play, and I’m so pleased it came from you — your comments are always well-thought out, and even when they challenge my own they are very welcomed. So thank you :)

“Please do not compare the struggles of poor and working class children to the struggles faced by the children of privilege.”

It’s true, and I do know it. It’s far easier to talk about the merits of struggle when you’re only struggling just enough to make you stronger, and never enough to actually, truly suffer. There’s a difference between struggling from a position of hope and suffering from a position without privilege.
