This is fascinating! thanks so much for sharing — from what I understand of what you wrote, it sounds like it falls more in line with “new ideas” (possibilities/potential) than “sensory experiences” (i.e., “the present”) from the post?
And yes — have read Cameron :) a few years ago, but definitely have her back of mind whenever I urge writers (aspiring or otherwise) to write “every day.”
you are closely to this core problem, of course, than I am, but a solution as I understood it from Cameron’s work was seeking “artist input” from spaces outside our own — in other words, we can still maintain minimalist households, but indulge in “stuff” outside. I agree that both are very important — and for opposite reasons! (one receiving / internalizing / ideating / being inspired; the other for actual creation.)
